Back in December 2010 we decided it would be neat to plan a summer family getaway - when it was 110+ degrees around our place in June we would travel 4 hours northeast into the mountains where it was 30 degrees cooler and stay in a log cabin next to a lake....it was a good idea at the time, but then half of the state of Arizona caught on fire and our vacation went up in smoke.
